Thankful for the God Who Be…
Thankful for the God Who Began It All. Genesis 1:1 KJV Genesis 1:1 opens Scripture with the bold declaration that God is. There is no debate or defense—only divine reality. From this single verse, we learn who God is, what He has done, and what that means for us.We are so Thankful this Thanksgiving season for A God who began it all.
1. The First Declaration of God
God’s Word begins by asserting His existence, externality, and exclusiveness. He is the God who was before all things, who depends on nothing, and who alone is worthy of worship.
2. The Foundational Description of God
In calling Himself Elohim, God reveals His power, faithfulness, and unchanging nature. He is the Strong One (El) who creates and sustains, the Faithful One (Alah) who keeps His promises, and the Constant One who never changes.
3. The Profound Implications for Us
Because of who God is, we are called to respond:
• A Call to Faith — to believe in the unseen Creator.
• A Call to Worship — to honor Him for His power and promises.
• A Call to Obedience — to live in submission to His Word and will.
As we give thanks, we remember that the God who began it all still holds it all together. Our gratitude flows not just from what He has made, but from who He is — eternal, faithful, and unchanging.
