A Father God Can Trust
A Father God Can Trust. Genesis 18:19 (KJV)This Father’s Day evening, we reflect not just on the role of a father—but on the kind of father God Himself can trust. Genesis 18:19 offers a rare and divine commendation. God says of Abraham, “I know him…”—not merely by observation, but by intimacy, by covenant, by trust.God trusted Abraham because He saw in him five foundational qualities—qualities that still define what it means to be a godly father in today’s world:I. He Was Anchored in a Divine CallingAbraham answered the call of God when others stayed in comfort. A godly father knows his identity and purpose come from the Lord.II. He Was Committed to a Generational Legacy God said Abraham would command his children after him. A father who walks with God leaves a trail his children can follow.III. He Modeled Grace Under Pressure From family drama to divine tests, Abraham responded with faith and humility. His stability under pressure made him a pillar his family could lean on.IV. He Was Fueled by a Lifestyle of Prayer
Abraham built altars. He interceded. He met with God. A father’s prayers often outlive his life, echoing through the generations. V. He Walked by Unshakable Faith.Even when it didn’t make sense, Abraham believed God. And that faith made him the father of many nations—and a man God could trust.God is still looking for fathers like Abraham. Not perfect men—but faithful men. Men who will lead their homes in truth, love, and godly fear. Men whose obedience will bless not only their homes—but their children’s children. Are you saved? Have you been born again? If not, today is the day to get right with God and become a man heaven can trust. Like Abraham, let it
