Camp SONshine 2026 began with an exciting opening assembly as campers gathered for a morning of faith, friendship, fun, and adventure. The day opened with a special VBS skit that introduced the theme of learning to trust God and follow His leadership in every area of life.Campers then participated in the three pledges: the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, the Pledge to the Christian Flag, and the Pledge to the Bible, reaffirming their commitment to God, country, and the authority of God’s Holy Word. A time of prayer followed as leaders asked for God’s blessing upon every camper, teacher, volunteer, lesson, activity, and family represented.Throughout the day, campers enjoyed crafts, Bible lessons, recreation, snacks, and fellowship while learning two important truths from Scripture: “God Wins the Battle” from Judges 7:16-22 and “God Knows the Way” from Exodus 13:17-22.The day concluded with a closing ceremony as campers returned to Building 1 to celebrate what God had done throughout Camp SONshine. Leaders reviewed the lessons learned, recognized campers and volunteers, shared words of encouragement, and challenged everyone to continue shining the light of Jesus wherever they go.Camp SONshine 2026 reminded every camper that Jesus Christ is our Savior, God’s Word is our guide, and the greatest adventure in life is following Him. The program concluded with prayer and dismissal as campers departed with joyful hearts, strengthened faith, new friendships, and lasting memories centered on Christ.
