It is one of the two books in the Bible that are named after a woman. There is Esther, a Jewess that married a Gentile husband, and Ruth, a gentile that married a Hebrew husband.
The title I would give to the book is “The Love Story of Redemption.” The key word and thought to the book is that of a “Kinsman.” [Note: 2:20] As we go through the book we this love story of redemption unfolds and we are reminded that Jesus is our Kinsman Redeemer.
