Three Keys To Clear Thinking
3 KEYS TO CLEAR THINKING PSALMS 27:13-14 In this Psalm, David relates the fact that he knows that he possesses the Lord already by faith, v. 1. This knowledge gave David much reassurance as he faced the various battles of life. He speaks of past victories the Lord had given in v. 2. He speaks of his faith of future victories in v. 3. David knew that, in his life, the only safe place in the world was to be in a place close to God, v. 4. If it had not been for God’s goodness, David would have fainted, despaired, or perished. Because of God’s goodness, he found confidence in going onward and we can too. David concludes this encouraging psalm with a word of advice: wait on the Lord. To wait (qavah) on the Lord certainly involves patience; that is, enduring until God chooses to act on our behalf, according to His perfect timing. Our impatience robs us of blessings many times because we tend to get ahead of God and make rash, stupid decisions. While you’re waiting on God, don’t ask why, “Why is this happening?” Ask What? “What do you want me to learn in this depressing, defeating and dark day?”
