From David’s words in Psalm 23, we were shown that the same Lord who leads us in green pastures also walks faithfully with us through the darkest and most difficult seasons.First, we learned that God is present in the valley. David declared that even in the “valley of the shadow of death,” there is no need to fear, because the Shepherd is with His sheep. Valleys may bring loss, uncertainty, illness, or sorrow, but they never remove us from God’s care. In the valley, our faith moves from knowledge about God to a deep, personal reliance on Him.Second, we saw that God protects and guides us in the valley. The Shepherd prepares a table in the presence of enemies, anoints our head with oil, and causes our cup to overflow. The valley is not the end of the story.
