Light for the Journey. Psalms 119:105 KJV God’s Word is not merely a book; it is the guiding light that illuminates our steps and sustains our walk. The psalmist declares, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” This verse captures the believer’s complete dependence upon Scripture as the source of guidance, strength, and assurance in life’s journey.
• First, the Word serves as a lamp for our steps, giving us illumination for daily decisions, instruction in righteous living, and inspiration in times of trial.
• Second, it provides a light for our path, bringing clarity when the road seems uncertain, certainty when doubts arise, and courage to face spiritual battles.
• Finally, we see the power of the Word—it saves the lost, sanctifies the believer, and strengthens the church to stand as a testimony in a dark world.
