Jesus Displayed

Jesus Displayed.1 Corinthians 9:16–27 KJV In this lesson from 1 Corinthians 9:16–27, the apostle Paul teaches believers about the responsibility and commitment required to share the gospel. Paul explained that preaching the gospel was not something he could boast about, but a calling placed upon him by God. He felt a strong sense of responsibility, saying, “Woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.” This reminds us that all Christians are commissioned to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Paul also demonstrated that reaching people for Christ often requires humility and flexibility. He was willing to become “all things to all men” so that he might reach as many people as possible. This did not mean changing the message of the gospel, but rather understanding people and meeting them where they were in order to help them know Christ.
Finally, Paul compared the Christian life to running a race, emphasizing the need for discipline and self-control. Just as athletes train and sacrifice for a prize, believers must live with spiritual focus and commitment in order to faithfully serve Christ and share the gospel with others.
This lesson reminds us that we display Jesus not only by what we say, but also by how we live. When we step into people’s world with compassion, humility, and discipline, we create opportunities to show them the love and truth of Christ.
