DAY 9 — LOVE MAKES GOOD IMP…
DAY 9 — LOVE MAKES GOOD IMPRESSIONS. 1 PETER 5:14 kjv Love is often revealed in the little things we do every day. One of those little things is simply how we greet the person we love. A warm smile, a kind word, a hug, or simply stopping what we are doing long enough to say, “I’m glad to see you,” can communicate more than we realize. Proverbs 15:13 reminds us that a merry heart makes a cheerful countenance. What is in our heart often shows up on our face. Jesus gave us a beautiful picture of this in Luke 15 when the father saw his returning son. He did not stand at a distance with folded arms. He ran to meet him, embraced him, and welcomed him home. That greeting communicated love before many words were ever spoken.Day 9 of The Love Dare reminds us not to let familiarity make us careless with the people closest to us. Sometimes we greet strangers with a smile and kindness while giving our spouse only what is left over after a long day.
Biblical love says, “You matter to me. Your presence matters to me. I am glad you are here.” The challenge for today is simple: Pay attention to how you greet your spouse.
Put down the phone. Look them in the eyes. Smile. Speak with kindness. Let your greeting communicate the love that is in your heart.Because sometimes one of the simplest ways to say, “I love you,” is to make sure the person you love can see that you are genuinely glad to see them.
