DAY 5 — LOVE IS NOT RUDE. [LOVE SHOWS RESPECT IN THE LITTLE THINGS] PROVERBS 27:14 KJV Love does not excuse rude behavior simply because we are comfortable with our spouse. Biblical love shows respect in our words, our tone, our habits, and our willingness to change anything that unnecessarily irritates or embarrasses the person we love. RESPECT IS LOVE MINDING ITS MANNERS.
Rudeness says:
“THIS IS JUST THE WAY I AM.”
Love says:
“IF IT HURTS YOU, I’M WILLING TO WORK ON IT.”
Rudeness demands to be understood.
LOVE SEEKS TO UNDERSTAND.
Rudeness embarrasses.
LOVE HONORS.
Rudeness defends itself.
LOVE LISTENS.
One of the marks of a mature marriage is being willing to ask:
“WHAT IS IT LIKE TO LIVE WITH ME?”
And then having enough humility to listen to the answer.
