Easter reminds us of the incredible and monumental rescue that took place over 2000 years ago. Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, we have needed the rescuing hand of God to deliver us from evil and sin. This Easter series is to remind us of how God has been rescuing us since the beginning. From David and Goliath, Daniel, Jonah and countless other stories, God’s love for us was ultimately displayed when he sent Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross, only to be risen from the dead so that we may be saved.

No one is too far gone or too lost to be rescued by Christ. We don’t have to live under the burden of past mistakes because God’s love and forgiveness is everlasting. Rescued people are used by God to rescue others. Because God is a God who raises people from the dead, we have hope—not just for our eternal state with God but hope now, in the abundant life God gives. On this Palm Sunday as never before we need to behold the King coming on the donkey. Coming to reign and rule in your life if you will let Him. Coming to seek and to save those who will allow Him to do so. Coming to equip and empower those who will humbly recognize their need. And get this: Coming to give you and me peace in the midst of the problems of life.
