Today we’ll look at a story in the gospel of Matthew that helps us properly define this “holy ambition.” In this story we discover three principles that help us develop the right attitude toward our job and our ministry.Do you realize that this is the first time in the gospel of Matthew that Matthew has said that Jesus is going to be crucified. For the first time right here in Matt. 20:19 we are told explicitly that Jesus’ death is going to be death by crucifixion.The difference between holy ambition and selfish ambition comes down to the question of who is being served.
Do you see your job in terms of how it benefits others? Or do you see your job in terms of how it benefits you?
That’s the crucial distinction we all must make. If you want to achieve greatness, then make serving others the primary focus of your job performance.
