Faith John 16:7-14 Study For three years, Jesus had been with the Disciples to protect them from attack; but now He was about to leave them. Jesus is going to depart and leave the disciples and none of them can even think to ask Him where He’s going. The major reason, of course, is that the Holy Spirit might come to empower the church for life and witness .We all need to realize the importance of the Holy Spirit. We need to be praying every day for the Holy Spirit to give us victory over the flesh and help us reach our full potential in Christ. The moment that Christ left this earth to go back to the father. The job of the Holy Spirit began with the disciples to comfort, teach, and show them how to glorify Jesus. The Holy spirit is a person that is eternally existent, omnipresent, omnipotent, and Omniscient with personality. What would a person do if they didn’t have the control, teaching, leading, empowering, love, and filling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works through the people in whom He lives. When the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, He empowered Peter to preach; and the preaching of the Word brought conviction to those who heard. We do not study the Word of God to “argue religion” with people, or to show off our grasp of spiritual things. We study the Word to see Jesus Christ, to know God better, to glorify Him in our lives. As we witness in this hostile world, the Spirit uses the Word He has taught us; and we share Jesus Christ with the lost. It is our job to witness; it is the Spirit’s job to convict. My prayer is that the spirit will use us as faithful witnesses.
