Godliness02
Godliness. 1 Timothy 4:6-16 KJV In this lesson, we explore the vital Christian virtue of godliness—a life that reflects the holiness and character of Christ in every word, deed, and attitude. Paul’s charge to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:6–16 reveals the profile of a godly servant of the Lord: one who is spiritually nourished, grounded in truth, disciplined in righteousness, and diligent in personal example and teaching.Godliness doesn’t happen by accident—it requires intentional training, just like physical exercise, but with eternal results. Paul reminds us that while bodily exercise profits little, “godliness is profitable unto all things” (v. 8), promising rewards both in this life and the life to come.As believers, we are called to live with integrity, consistency, and conviction. Our lives should be sermons in motion—drawing others not to ourselves, but to Christ. Godly character gives credibility to our message, strength to our witness, and glory to our Savior. This session 2 challenges us to pursue godliness as a lifestyle, not a label. It calls us to be examples in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity (v. 12), especially in a culture where true holiness is rare and often ridiculed.in verse 16 is my favorite. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
