The Rock, Solid, Strong, Stable and Secure Christian. 1 Thess. 3:1-13
Paul was a church planter. He went to the capital city of Macedonia, which was a northern province, a Roman province. It was in Greece. In AD 49 he planted a church. He began to minister and speak and teach and communicate. But almost immediately, when the church was still very, very new and all of the Christians were very young, there was so much opposition in Thessalonica that Paul was forced to flee for his life. We’re talking about how to develop strength of character. Therefore Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians. He wrote it at a time when perseverance was difficult to maintain, when those who converted to the Christian faith were sure to suffer persecution, humiliation, and ridicule. The truth about trouble is that it will invade every life represented here. Every home, every family, every business, every believer. But the truth about trouble also, is that it is temporary. It is no match for the believer determined to stay in the fight through the final round.
