Helen F. Jones, 92 of Cartersville, GA went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2020. Helen was born on December 1, 1927 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Mr. Green B. McVey and Dora Conley McVey.

Helen was married to her husband, Jackson M. “J.M.” Jones on March 25, 1945 and moved to Cartersville, GA shortly after her marriage. During her lifetime she was employed by Goodyear Mills, E-Z Mills, Cass School Cafeteria and Nantucket Industries. Helen was a devout Christian and faithful member of Peeples Valley Baptist Church for over 50 years. Helen sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and served as President of the WMU and in so many other areas of the church. Helen truly loved her family, church and Southern gospel music.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers; Hertis McVey, Howell McVey, and Harold McVey, sisters; Thelma Hardin, Mary Sisson and Shirley Norton, and son-in-law, Howell Siniard.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila, of Cartersville, GA, brother, Jim (Barbara) McVey, of Ellijay, GA, and sister, Jo (Ernest) Jones, of Epworth, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Helen’s memory.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Sunset Memory Gardens on Friday, April 24, 2020 officiated by Rev. Darrell Bailey and Ed Sisson.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her beloved caregiver, Ashley Nelson and the staff of The Fountains in Cartersville, GA.
