Jesus said a surprising thing: “It is expedient for you that I go away.” It was for the believer’s good (profit, advantage) that Jesus would leave the world.The Holy Spirit convicts and convinces the world of three things: sin, righteousness, and judgment.The Holy Spirit convicts the world of its lack of righteousness, that a man has no righteousness whatsoever that is acceptable to God. The Holy Spirit convinces the world that Jesus’ righteousness is acceptable to God. The Holy Spirit convicts the world that judgment is coming, that a man is to face the personal judgment of God. The Holy Spirit convinces the world that Jesus has borne the judgment of sin and death for man.The Holy Spirit guides believers through three things.The Holy Spirit guides by speaking the truth , by leading into all the truth, and by showing (announcing, declaring) things to come. The Holy Spirit was sent in Jesus’ name to proclaim Jesus alone. All that the Father has is His. He is the Son of God, the Son of the Father. Christ is declaring that there is perfect unity in the Godhead.the Holy Spirit is not through with his work. In a sense, his work is only beginning. The Holy Spirit not only transforms unbelievers into believers. He also transforms believers into disciples.
