There’s Only One Way To The Promised Land Job 23:8-10 any of us who regularly watch or read the evening news could easily become discouraged. Day in and day out we learn of the horrific crimes and ghastly acts people commit. Keep in mind that the news covers only people who get caught and, in many cases, only those who are news-worthy. How many more go unreported? And how many more go undiscovered? This goes on day after day in city after city all across the world. It is no wonder so many people suffer such deep despair! When some of us are striving to live righteous lives and to follow the Lord, it is easy to wonder how God can allow so much evil and corruption in the world and seemingly do nothing about it? This was Job’s question and complaint. He was committed to the Lord and loved the Lord with all his heart. Yet it was he… who had lost everything he owned and cherished …who was enduring such excruciating pain …who was being personally attacked and scorned by all. And while Job was suffering, many of the wicked appeared to be healthy and prospering. He, who was innocent, suffered while so many of the guilty were living free and going unpunished. DAYENU (meaning: It would have been enough OR have died content) 1. The wilderness is not a sign of God’s disapproval. 2.God works in our lives all the way through the wilderness.3.The wilderness is not a place of defeat to those who trust God. Through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus, we are given the ability to stand and live in the presence of a Holy God – His death and resurrection is completely sufficient! God looked down and sent His One and Only Son – Dayenu! Jesus is Enough!
