Can You Hear me Now?
Can You hear me Now Isaiah 55:8 Have you ever tried to use your cell phone only to find that you had no signal? It doesn’t matter what kind of phone you use or how elaborate the services to which you subscribe if you can’t get a signal. The 55th chapter of Isaiah begins with an invitation to everyone that has a “thirst” for righteousness to come before God’s presence (55:1). Verse six says, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” In essence they were challenged to take God’s offer seriously and respond to it quickly.” 1. Hear Us When We Call When we call on the Lord, we fully expect to get a response. God hears us: WHEN WE PRAY: The best way to make a connection with God is to pray. He always hears our prayers. It may appear at times that God is not listening or is not present, but he is always present, and he always hears a believer’s prayer. God will hear us wherever we happen to be! 2. Listen When God speaks Finally, brothers and sisters, while we want God to hear us when we are in trouble or distress, we must also listen to God. There are times when God answers but we must listen to hear his response. One day on Calvary Jesus, was nailed to an old, rugged cross. When the sky turned dark and the earth began to shake, it was God asking, “Can you hear me now?” But Early Sunday morning, Jesus arose from the dead! The angel declared; he is not here. He has risen from the dead, just as he said! As an astonished world looked at the empty tomb, God seemed to speak from heaven say, “Can you hear me now?”
