When the Chair is Empty
When the Chair is Empty. Exodus 20:12 KJV Father’s Day is a time to thank God for the fathers, mothers, and parents who have helped shape our lives. In this message, “When the Chair Is Empty – Honor Them Before They’re Gone,” we are reminded of the Fifth Commandment found in Exodus 20:12: “Honour thy father and thy mother.” God places great value on honoring our parents because they are the first authority figures He gives us and often the first example of love, sacrifice, and guidance.Too often we wait until a chair sits empty at the family table before we realize how much someone meant to us. This message challenges us to express our love, gratitude, respect, and forgiveness while we still have the opportunity. Whether our parents are living or have already gone to be with the Lord, we can honor their influence and thank God for the role they played in our lives. The empty chair reminds us that time is precious, relationships matter, and love should never be postponed. Today is the day to honor those who have invested in us and to thank our Heavenly Father, whose love never fails and whose presence is never absent.
