They don’t want to do anything to disqualify themselves as leaders. This is true also of Christian leaders.Effective spiritual leaders act in a way that honors God and benefits people. Unfortunately, even the best leaders can lose their focus and make costly mistakes.Moses and Aaron lose sight of God’s authority and act irrationally; God punishes this by not letting them leave the wilderness.Being unable to control our anger or to handle criticism can affect God’s future plans for us.Difficulties either bring out the best in people or the worst; they either mature us or make us more childish. Israel’s words and attitudes revealed clearly that their hearts were still in Egypt. What a picture of the professed Christian who still loves the world and turns to the world for help whenever there’s a problem!”
