The Monster of Bodily Sickness.2 Kings 20:1-11:Isaiah 38:9-20 We need to face the fears that Hold us Back. Ever since the 18th century, scientists have experimented with organ transplants on animals and even humans. It wasn’t until 1954 that the first-ever transplant of a kidney was done successfully. Antibiotics are used every day across the globe to fight off bacterial infections. The most interesting thing about antibiotics was they were created as a result of a scientific accident .Hezekiah nearly died in the middle of his reign as king of Judah. He was overtaken by a sickness which apart from God’s intervention would have taken Hezekiah’s life when he was only thirty-nine. His survival of this sickness was one of the great survivals of his life. This sickness, which is recorded in all three accounts of Hezekiah in the Bible, resulted in two well-known miracles recorded in Scripture. 1.There was the miracle of the healing of Hezekiah which included the extension of his life by fifteen years.2.There was the miracle of the moving of the shadow of the sun backward on the sun dial to confirm the prediction of Hezekiah’s healing.Hezekiah’s healing put a song in his mouth. It prompted his singing.The blessings of God always do, especially the blessing of soul salvation.
