Making Choices About Something
Each day we all make moral decisions. Such decisions reveal who we are. Some of our decisions have more to do with selfishness than following God’s will.
Most people agree that every society needs some kind of morality to live by. But if we were to go by the morality communicated by many of the tabloid newspapers and many of the TV soaps we would end up by living by the law of the jungle.
There are many moralities around and it is of vital importance that we choose the “right” one.
Christians all agree that we should turn to the pages of the Bible when we are in need of encouragement, inspiration and guidance for our spiritual life and walk with God.
They also accept that the Bible should be studied when we want to sort out our ideas about the nature of God, life and death.
But it is not so readily accepted that the Bible should be our yardstick and major resource on ethical matters.
