God & Country is a series about Which Kingdom are you truly living for? Are you living as a Christian in America or a sinner? Is it all about God with you or is all about the Country of America? Thomas Jefferson said, “Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just.” Being number one is something Americans have grown accustomed to and take great pride in. But often that pride can be blinding to the church, especially in privileged, wealthy regions of the country that do not often encounter injustice or struggle. This can cause the believer to stumble, seeking the kingdom of the American dream over the kingdom of God. I like what Adrian Rogers wrote one time, ““My heart is stirred when I visit other lands—most recently, Russia—at the oneness that I feel with these vastly different peoples. I know that in a sense in Christ I have a bond with them that transcends all others, my family and my country, because they are part of the Body of Christ.
