The Brook of Zered_03 Deuteronomy 2:13-14;Isaiah 15:7The brook Zered. is called the “brook of the willows” in Isaiah 15:7 and the “river of the wilderness” in Amos 6:4. It is a stream that runs approximately 38 miles in length and empties into the southern end of the Dead Sea. It separates Moab from Edom. This passage is a sermon that Moses was preaching to the second generation of believers. Moses was doing all he could to arouse strong hope in the hearts of the people. If they were gripped by strong hope, they would courageously march into the promised land and lay claim to their inheritance. They would allow nothing to stop them.Knowing this, Moses challenged the second generation to remember the experience of their parents: how they had started out with such great hope, but how miserably they had failed.s we look at the children of Israel crossing the brook Zered. It speaks to us of how at this very hour God is calling each of us to arise and get over the brook into Canaan.Their are boundaries that hold all of us back from our promise of God.
