Anger in the Household_07
Anger in the Household Matt. 5:20-26Jesus looked at His disciples and the crowd gathered around Him and told them that unless their righteousness exceeded that of the Pharisees they were not living as citizens of a heavenly kingdom. Jesus was defining righteousness as an inward matter and not just an outward matter. The Pharisees gave the appearance they were righteous, but Jesus was teaching that the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. Through the years I have known of family members that would not talk to each other.
Certain things had happened that had driven a wedge between them. Even sadder is when there is division in the family of God. Jesus was saying that anger is a sin just as murder.1. THE SIN OF ANGER JESUS DECLARED.2. THE STAGES TO ANGER JESUS DESCRIBED. 3. THE SOLUTION FOR ANGER JESUS DEMANDEDJesus said the same thing about anger as He did murder. He said both were in danger of the judgment. They both are in the same family. One leads to the other and one flows from the other. Both are sins. One is a sin by action and the other a sin by attitude. Jesus was saying that one should not only seek reconciliation but do it speedily or quickly.
