He Got up & I Got in 1Cor. 15:39-58Everyone knows what happened on the 3rd day, but we have looked at what took place during those 3 days Jesus was in the tomb. We know from Scripture that during that time, Jesus “descended first into the lower parts of the earth.” While there, in 1 Peter 3: 19, “He went and preached unto the spirits in prison.” In other words, while in the tomb, Jesus went to hell.But, then we read in Ephesians 4:8 that, “He ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men… He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.” In other words, while in the tomb, Jesus ascended to Heaven, and took with Him every soul from Adam to the thief on the cross from Abraham’s Bosom, or Paradise, to be with God in the 3rd Heaven.Now, we come to the 3rd day. Friday has passed, and Sunday is here. He has gone down, but now it’s time for Him to get up; and Paul shows from our text that because He got up, I got in.
