What we Believe About the Church.1 Tim. 3:15 God wants His Church to be spiritually strong and healthy. What is a spiritually healthy Church? It is as we have seen, a worship, growing, caring, serving, loving, giving, thirsty and passionate Church. You can discover the spiritual temperature of a Church by the presence or absence of these things. I once again remind you that the Church is nothing more or nothing less than what we are as members. If a Church is spiritually healthy, it is because its members are spiritually healthy. My spiritual health, and your spiritual health, is essential to our Church being spiritually healthy. The Church is to be a reflection of its Lord. Someone has said that the Church has become so worldly and the world so churchy that you can’t tell the two apart. Now, I don’t mean to be closed to change and progress, but I don’t feel that adopting methods that is non-offensive to the world is what the Church is all about. The Bible tells us that we are not to be conformed to this world. The world will never see itself as it is, lost and condemned by God, until the Church shows itself as a holy people. When it comes to the Church being holy and having an effective testimony in the world and to the world, its members are its advertisements. We can’t act like angels of the Lord’s Day and then act like devils on other days. We all have met people who would not come to Church because of the terrible testimony that some Church member had. Do you want your Church to be a great Church? If so, then purpose in your heart by the grace of God that you will be a great Church member.
