Our History
Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church was founded to be a light at the crossroads of our community—a place where faith meets everyday life.
For more than 125 years, God has faithfully blessed this church and allowed it to serve as a beacon of hope in Taylorsville and the surrounding communities. Our story began with a small group of believers who gathered with Bibles in their hands and a burden for souls in their hearts. Through prayer, faith, and a commitment to sharing the Gospel, they laid the foundation for a ministry that continues today.
Over the years, we have witnessed God’s hand through revivals, baptisms, children’s ministries, mission work, discipleship programs, and countless lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Though times have changed, our mission remains the same:
Loving God. Loving People. Living the Gospel.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word, reaching our community with the Gospel, supporting missions around the world, and helping people grow in their faith.
What We Believe
Statement of Faith
As a Southern Baptist church, Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church affirms the teachings of the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) and holds to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith.
1. The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is God’s complete revelation to mankind and serves as our final authority for faith and practice.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16-17
2. God
We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” — Deuteronomy 6:4
3. Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and will one day return in power and glory.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells every Christian, and empowers God’s people for holy living and service.
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” — Acts 1:8
5. Salvation
We believe salvation is by God’s grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by good works but is received as God’s free gift.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith.” — Ephesians 2:8-9
6. The Church
We believe the church is the Body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers, called to worship God, fellowship together, disciple believers, and share the Gospel with the world.
“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:12
7. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances established by Jesus Christ.
Baptism is by immersion and symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice and a reminder of His promised return.
8. The Family
We believe God established the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is a sacred covenant relationship between one man and one woman as ordained by God.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife.” — Genesis 2:24
9. The Second Coming
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly, and gloriously. He will judge the living and the dead and establish His everlasting Kingdom.
“Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me.” — Revelation 22:12
10. The Great Commission
We believe every follower of Jesus Christ has been called to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.” — Matthew 28:19-20
