☝️ THUMB – PRAISE

Who is closest to you

Begin with praise and worship.

“Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…”
(Matthew 6:9)

“You don’t rush into God’s presence with a shopping list — you start by honoring who He is.”

👉 INDEX FINGER – GUIDANCE

The finger that points the way

Pray for direction, wisdom, and leadership.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God…”
(James 1:5)

“Lord, show me the way — before I make the mistake.”

🖕 MIDDLE FINGER – OTHERS

The tallest finger — those in authority

Pray for others, especially leaders.

“I exhort therefore, that… prayers… be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority…”
(1 Timothy 2:1–2)

“We complain about leaders we refuse to pray for.”

💍 RING FINGER – THE WEAK

The weakest finger

Pray for the hurting, sick, broken, and needy.

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders…”
(James 5:14)

“Before you pray for your wants, pray for someone else’s wounds.”

PINKY – YOURSELF

The smallest finger

Pray for your own needs — last.

“Give us this day our daily bread…”
(Matthew 6:11)

When you don’t know where to start, use your hand:

Sometimes prayer doesn’t need fancy words—just a willing heart and a simple reminder.

“When God is first and others are next, He takes care of what’s left.”

“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

  1. Plan prayer
If it’s not scheduled, it won’t survive.
  2. Prepare prayer
    Scripture fuels conversation with God.
  3. Prevail in prayer
    Push through distractions.
  4. Pray effectively
God’s glory before your grocery list.
