Exodus the Book of Deliverance, we’ll find that God not only has the power to deliver us, as His people, out of our areas of bondage, but He delights in doing so!
Life looked bleak for the children of Israel. During the lifetime of Joseph, they had enjoyed freedom and leadership in Egypt, but now, under the rule of a new pharaoh, they were subjected to subservience and bond age. God, however, was not going to leave His people to suffer forever. He protected and raised a man whom He would use to lead the Israelites out of bondage.
At the time our text was written, long before the great nations of Babylon and Persia rose to world dominance, Egypt was the prevailing world superpower, and God performed an amazing story of deliverance for His chosen people. In fact, years later, Joshua reminded them of God’s deliverance through this great Exodus as an encouragement when they faced new battles.
