The Vision of Renewing The..
The Vision of Renewing The Dead(The Resurrection & Reunification of Israel)Ezekiel 37:1-14Down through the centuries, both kingdoms turned away from the Lord and disobeyed His holy commandments. Their people lived wicked lives and engaged in idolatry, the worship of false gods. Consequently, God’s judgment fell on both kingdoms. The Northern Kingdom of Israel fell to the Assyrians in 722 B.C., and the Southern Kingdom of Judah fell to the Babylonians in 586 B.C.The dry bones pictured the hopelessness of death (1-3). The Lord told Ezekiel that there was a solution to the Jews’ hopelessness (4-10). The Lord Himself explained the meaning of the vision of the dry bones (11-14). A dead person has no hope whatsoever.God has the power to give new life to the hopeless. As long as we have the breath of life, God’s power can give us hope by helping us conquer whatever crisis we face. Whatever the crisis is—a broken relationship, disease, injury, loss of job, conflict, temptation, enslavement to some habit—God has the power to conquer it. He can give us a new life, a new beginning, a brand new start that will make it seem as if we have been resurrected from the dead. May God give all of us the vision to renew life into the dead.
