Yet, His Love Made the Difference, Romans 5:6-12 If you had to come up with a list, who would you be willing to die for?Would you die for …
• your country?
• your children?
• a close friend?
Jesus Christ did. He died for everyone, even for those who are on the bottom rung of society’s ladder. He died for the person who has never missed a day of church. He died for the person who has never been to church. He did not wait for us to improve our lives. He died for us while we were stuck in sin’s lethal grasp.Agape love is a new kind of love: it is a godly love, a sacrificial love, a love that gives itself for those without strength (Ro. 5:6), for the ungodly (Ro. 5:6), for sinners (Ro. 5:8), and for enemies (Ro. 5:10).The love of God makes the difference in several ways.
1. His love is always the turning point.
2. His love always touches.
3. His love is always right on time.
When you were saved, you were not good in the first place.
You don’t get better to get saved; you get saved to get better. Our sinfulness did not keep us from salvation; it will not take our salvation away either. Christ died for the ungodly … for sinners.
