Walk Worthy of Your Calling Eph. 4:1-16 How is the believer to live as he walks day by day throughout life? Being at peace w/others is important, being at peace w/God is essential. We have peace w/God through the blood of Jesus Christ. The Believer is to Walk Worthy of His Calling. V.1-6. The Believer is to walk by Using His Gifts. V.7-16. During the first three chapters, the believer is to do one thing, to believe what God has said about him. Throughout these first three chapters, God does all the work. You can do nothing. You can only learn about who you are in Christ. It is here that you learn that you have an identity in Christ Jesus. You identified with Christ; you share in everything that He has. The only way to walk worthy of God’s great calling is to work at keeping the peace and unity, which God has given us. Nothing cuts the heart of God like divisiveness between His people, divisiveness that tears apart His church. Paul tells us that the gifts of God, especially the ones mentioned in v. 11, exist “for the edifying of the body of Christ.” The idea of “speaking the truth in love” speaks of the truth of the Gospel proclaimed and lived out by a church that is in love with the Lord, one another and the lost world around it. This kind of church, the church that preaches truth, loves truth, shares truth and that loves the God of truth is the kind of church that God will use in powerful ways to glorifying Himself and to reach the lost.
