The Oil Nobody Saw
The Oil Nobody Saw. Genesis 26:15–25 KJV In Genesis 26, Isaac returns to wells that had been stopped up by the Philistines—wells originally dug by his father, Abraham. Instead of quitting or fighting every battle, Isaac keeps digging. What others had buried, God had not forgotten. This passage reminds us that what looks like loss, delay, or opposition is often just covered blessing. The “oil nobody saw” represents the hidden provision, purpose, and calling that God has already placed in our lives—but it must be uncovered through faithfulness.Isaac’s journey shows three powerful truths:1.The enemy may stop up your wells, but he cannot remove what God has placed there. 2.There are blessings worth revisiting—things God started that need to be dug again. 3.Persistence in the quiet places leads to public provision. Isaac didn’t strive endlessly—he moved when needed, trusted God’s timing, and kept working until he reached a place of peace (Rehoboth), where God made room for him. Eventually, that obedience led to worship, as he built an altar and called on the Lord.Go back and dig again where God once moved. Stay faithful when the results aren’t immediately visible. Trust that God is working beneath the surface, even when no one else sees it. God’s greatest work in your life may be hidden right now—but if you don’t stop digging, you will uncover the blessing He already prepared.
