The Haters. Genesis 37:12-36 Even as a teenager, Joseph saw greatness in his future. But when he shared his God-given dreams with his brothers, his life began a downward spiral…fast. Suddenly, he was a slave in a foreign country with his destiny in the hands of his captors. We have all had experience with broken dreams. But if we aren’t careful, our ability to dream big for God can be hindered by our own actions. There is a word here about hatred. When you serve the Lord, live clean and follow the dream God gives you, some people are going to revolt against you. Don’t be surprised when you are hated for following the Lord. They hated Him and they will hate you, John 15:18-20. Don’t let the haters stop you from achieving your fullest potential in the Lord. Learning the Obstacles to dreaming for God can help us stay focused and filled with the Holy spirit. If it seems to you that others are constantly throwing obstacle in your path, remember Joseph. Remember that God is bigger than the greatest obstacles. Hold to the dreams he has given you, and more importantly, hold to Him. Be faithful to Him, and he will help you over come the obstacles that get in your path. If you are setting up your own obstacles by allowing little sins of the mind or heart in your life, remember Joseph’s brothers. Don’t follow the path they took, but instead safeguard your heart and mind. Refuse to allow “little sins,” and choose instead to dream and live for God!
