The Empty Tomb on Trial .[Three Proofs that demand a Verdict] Acts 17:1-4 KJVIn our message, we place the resurrection of Jesus Christ on trial—not to question its truth, but to examine the overwhelming evidence that demands a response. Just as the apostle Paul reasoned with people from the Scriptures in Acts 17, we are called to consider the proof and render a verdict.First, the Cross Put on Display. The crucifixion of Jesus was not done in secret—it was public, brutal, and undeniable. Christ’s death was witnessed by many, fulfilling prophecy and confirming that He truly died for our sins. The cross stands as undeniable evidence of God’s love and the price of redemption.Second, the Tomb Turned Inside Out.The empty tomb is the central evidence of the resurrection. The stone was rolled away, the grave clothes left behind, and the body was gone. No one could produce the body of Jesus because He had risen just as He said. The empty tomb declares victory over death and proves the power of God.Third, the Gospel Forces a Verdict. In Acts 17, Paul presented the truth, and the people had to decide—some believed, and others rejected. The same is true today. The evidence of the cross and the empty tomb demands a personal response. You cannot remain neutral. You must decide: Will you believe and receive Christ, or will you walk away? The empty tomb is not just a historical event—it is a present-day call to decision. The evidence has been presented. Now the verdict is yours.
