Joshua built a memorial of twelve stones beside the Jordan River.
Jesus built a memorial around a table.
The stones reminded Israel that God brought them through the river.
The bread reminds believers that Jesus brought us through sin, judgment, and death.
The stones pointed backward to a miracle.
The Lord’s Supper points backward to Calvary and forward to His return.
Every time we come to the Lord’s Table, Heaven seems to whisper:
“Never forget the One who gave His body for you.”
The greatest thing we should never forget is this:
Jesus Christ died for sinners.
He rose again.
And salvation is available today.
The Cross is God’s eternal memorial of grace.
