This Mother’s Day message, “Not Your Average Mother,” is about more than just celebrating mothers — it’s about honoring the kind of woman who lives for God and leaves a spiritual impact on her family. In Proverbs 31, Solomon paints a picture of a mother who is not perfect, but faithful. She is a woman whose life points others toward the Lord. The world may measure a woman by beauty, popularity, or success, but God looks at her heart. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us that beauty fades, but a woman who fears the Lord will always be praised.In this message, I talked about how a godly mother’s heart is rooted in faith. Before anything else, she trusts God. Her family can depend on her because she walks with the Lord. She loves her family, prays for them, encourages them, and stays faithful even during hard times. A mother like this becomes the spiritual backbone of the home. Her character speaks louder than words ever could.I also spoke about how her hands are busy with purpose. A godly mother works hard and gives of herself daily. Much of what she does may go unnoticed by the world, but God sees every sacrifice. Whether she is cooking meals, cleaning the house, comforting her children, helping others, or carrying burdens nobody else knows about, her labor matters. She does not waste her life on selfish things — she lives with purpose and pours herself into her family and into the work of God.Finally, I shared how her hope is fixed on the Lord. Life brings struggles, disappointments, and worries, but a faithful mother keeps trusting God through it all. Her strength does not come from herself alone — it comes from the Lord. She knows that hard times do not last forever.
