MOVING DAY. “When God’s Children Finally Go Home” 2 Corinthians 5:1-11 KJV Paul reminds us that our earthly body is only a temporary tent. It wears out, grows weak, and eventually passes away. But for the believer, death is not the end. It is simply moving day. Many people live as though Earth is their permanent home. They spend all their time building earthly treasures while forgetting eternal ones. Paul describes our bodies as tents that will one day be folded up. Life brings burdens, sorrow, sickness, and struggles that remind us we were made for something greater than this world. The older we grow, the more we realize that this world cannot satisfy the deepest longing of the soul. This world is not our final address. Heaven is home. Every person has an appointment with eternity.
No one stays here forever. The question is not whether moving day will come.
The question is whether we are prepared when it arrives. For the believer, death is not something to fear. It is the doorway into the presence of Jesus Christ. One day every believer will leave behind the burdens of this life and step into the glory of God’s presence. Every child of God has a moving day coming. This world is only a temporary stop along the journey. Every child of God has a moving day coming. This world is only a temporary stop along the journey. One day we will leave our earthly tent behind and move into our eternal home with Jesus Christ forever.
