MEETING NEEDS. Luke 5:12–16; 27–32 KJV Jesus never looked at people as interruptions—He saw them as opportunities for ministry. In Luke 5, Jesus encounters two men society would rather avoid: a leper considered unclean and Levi, a publican considered sinful. Yet Jesus reached toward both of them with compassion and grace.
In this Bible study, “Meeting Needs,” we discover that connecting with people like Jesus did begins by seeing beyond the surface. Some people need a helping hand, some need encouragement, some need someone willing to listen, but ultimately everyone needs Jesus Christ.
The challenge is simple: People do not care how much we know until they know how much we care. Jesus touched the untouchable, welcomed the rejected, and sought those who needed the Great Physician.
As followers of Christ, we are called to do the same. May God give us eyes to see the hurting, hearts that feel compassion, hands willing to help, and courage to point people to the Savior.
Don’t just see the need—meet the need. And when you meet the need, point them to Jesus.
