Leaving the Battle & Settling for Less! Numbers 32:1-42 compromising with worldliness can destroy a person. Compromise can put us in jeopardy and endanger us. Compromise can discredit us and put us under suspicion. Compromise can ruin, weaken, and destroy us. The things of the world attract us, appealing to the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. If we compromise with the things of this world, they will often enslave us, putting us in bondage to them. The compromising tribes were determined to go their own way. They wanted the inheritance on the east side of the Jordan. They did not want to “cross over” the Jordan into the promised land. They liked what they saw where they were, and they wanted what they saw.What we sow, we will reap. This happened to the compromising tribes and it will happen to any of us who compromise with the world and its sin.
