Getting the Monkey off my back (Thanksgiving2020) Psalms 100:1-5 It is interesting to note that the Hebrew letter KUF (‏ק‎) is the letter for 100. Hebrew letters also have significant meaning. According to Jewish rabbis, the letter Kuf signifies several thoughts. It represents the holiness of God. The letter Kuf also stood for the Temple offerings. The Kuf also represents the conflict we face as Christians. Kuf means “monkey,” reminding us of the bestial, worldly nature we have that is in direct conflict with dedication to God. Our lust or sinfulness is like a monkey on our back that just won’t go away. 3 Important truths when Coming to God with Thanksgiving. 1.Giving Thanks Reflects an Inner Attitude. v. 1 2. Giving Thanks Represents Acknowledgement of God’s Sovereignty. v. 3
3.Giving Thanks Releases Action in Our Worship. v. 4 God’s truth will help us all to get the monkey of our flesh off of our back. His truth will help you to live a victorious Christian life if you will put it into practice.
