Focusing on What we Know_04
Focusing on What We Know (Which is) Set your Mind on Things Above Colossians 3:1-4 Paul was aware of the need for a proper perspective and focus. If the believer is to overcome the difficulties and pitfalls of life, his focus must be upon the Lord, having a spiritual perspective rather than a worldly one. EXPECTING THE BEST & PLANNING FOR THE WORST.1. EXPECTING THE BEST – THE BIBLE CALLS THAT FAITH.2. PLANNING FOR THE WORST – THE BIBLE CALLS THAT WISDOM. HOW DO YOU DO BOTH AT ONCE? STOP PRETENDING TO BE GOD. v.1…set your heart on things above. v. 2…set your minds on things above. This is the life God desires for you. He wants you focused on him, without obstacles. Don’t let the past hold you back. Don’t let mixed-up priorities hold you back. Don’t let sin hold you back. Set your heart on the things of God and set your mind on the things of God. When your heart and your head are moving in the same direction, you will experience the joy of a focused, Christ-centered life.
