Confess Wholeheartedly

person Pastor Darrell Bailey

Confess Wholeheartedly Daniel 9:3-10,17-19Staying True in a World Far from God.Confession and repentance keep us close to God.Confession of sin is needed to maintain a right RELATIONSHIP with God. v.3-6.Confession draws our focus to God who is RIGHTEOUS, COMPASSIONATE, and FORGIVING. v. 7-10.Seek the FORGIVENESS of God and trust Him to respond with favor. v.17-19.Daniel highlighted three components of God’s character in His prayer:Righteousness. God’s righteousness means God is morally and ethically right, and He only conducts Himself in that way. Merciful. God is sympathetic to His people. But this compassion isn’t mere sentiment; it compels Him to act. Forgiveness. Because of God’s love and mercy, He’s willing to pay the price for our sins to grant us forgiveness. We never have to wonder if this time we’ve gone too far in our recent sins committed or if this time God will meet our confession with anger and frustration or if this time God will tell us His grace has run out.Confession is safe because God is our eternal Father. Accept God’s forgiveness. 1 John 1:9. Once you have confessed, rest in the truth that you are forgiven.Trust His Word. Put Psalm 32:5-7 on a note card. Put it someplace you will see it often and be reminded that when you confess and repent, God protects and delivers.Pray like Daniel. How can you use Scripture in your prayers? How can you prepare to meet God in prayer? How can you humble yourself physically as you confess your sins?
