Apollos : A Dynamic Discipl..

person Pastor Darrell Bailey

Apollos : A Dynamic Disciple in Ephesus. Acts 18:23-28 We see the continuation of Paul’s third missionary journeys, particularly his journey from Corinth to Ephesus. After spending some time in Corinth, Paul sets sail for Ephesus, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila, a couple he had met in Corinth. Upon reaching Ephesus, Paul leaves Priscilla and Aquila there and enters the synagogue to reason with the Jews.Meanwhile, Apollos, an eloquent and knowledgeable man in the Scriptures, arrives in Ephesus. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord but knew only the baptism of John. Priscilla and Aquila hear him speaking boldly in the synagogue and invite him to their home, where they explain the way of God more accurately to him.Apollos then travels to Achaia, where he greatly helps those who had believed through grace. He vigorously refutes the Jews publicly, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. This passage highlights the collaborative nature of early Christian ministry, as seen in Paul’s partnership with Priscilla and Aquila and Apollos’ teachability and willingness to learn from them. It also underscores the importance of accurate teaching and understanding of Scripture in spreading the Gospel effectively.
