He turns our “hearts of stone into hearts of flesh” (Ezek. 36:26). He asks to dwell in us in such a way that it is His hands that tenderly touch others who are in pain . . . His heart that shares in the heartache of others . . . His feet that bring words of encouragement to the hopeless. He is in the process of writing the most exquisite story through our lives as we say “yes” to His loving invitation. Day by day, we reflect more purely the image of Christ in our life so much that others might ask us how they too can have what we are radiating.God flings open the prison doors of sin in our souls that have confined us and invites us to live a life fully in His presence. Tim Keller, author and pastor, describes sin as “. . . looking to something else besides God for your salvation.It is putting yourself in the place of God, becoming your own savior and lord.”Jesus wants to set us free from our own sinful self-rule but also from rejection, abuse, shame, and despair. He invites us into a relationship of intimacy.
