Commitment to Spiritual Growth. This message challenges believers to honestly examine their spiritual progress with the probing question: “Am I spiritually stronger than I was this time last year — or just older?” Using 2 Peter 3:18 as the foundation, the message emphasizes that spiritual growth is both God’s expectation and the believer’s responsibility.First, we are reminded that God expects growth, not stagnation. Scripture makes clear that remaining spiritually unchanged is not acceptable for a follower of Christ.Second, growth requires personal commitment. Spiritual maturity does not happen by accident; it demands intentional effort, faithfulness, and perseverance in pursuing the things of God.Third, the message highlights that growth happens best inside God’s design—the local church. God uses His Word, godly leadership, and Christian fellowship to help believers grow in truth and discernment.Fourth, we learn that growth demands change. As believers mature, old ways of thinking and living must be replaced with obedience and holiness in preparation for the Lord’s return. Finally, the goal of all spiritual growth is Christlikeness. True growth is not measured by age, knowledge, or activity, but by how closely our lives reflect the character, grace, and knowledge of Jesus Christ. This commitment calls every believer to pursue intentional, Christ-centered growth in 2026 and beyond
