WHAT WE BELIEVE
As a Southern Baptist Church, we affirm the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
Here is a summary of our core beliefs:
- The Bible – We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is our final authority for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- God – There is one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
- Jesus Christ – We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:14; 1 Thessalonians 4:16)
- The Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, and empowers for godly living and service. (John 16:7–8; Acts 1:8)
- Salvation – Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. No works can earn it; it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- The Church – The church is the body of Christ, made up of all born-again believers, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and evangelism. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
- Baptism and the Lord’s Supper – These are ordinances given by Christ. Baptism is by immersion, symbolizing our death, burial, and resurrection with Christ. The Lord’s Supper commemorates His sacrifice until He comes again. (Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
- The Family – God ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant relationship before God. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6)
- The Second Coming – Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom. (Revelation 22:12-13)
- The Great Commission – Every believer is called to share the Gospel with the world and make disciples. (Matthew 28:19-20)
