 WHAT IS COMMITMENT?

Commitment is a settled, surrendered, Spirit-empowered decision
to obey God fully, faithfully, and forever —
regardless of cost, circumstances, or consequences.

Commitment is not:
• a feeling
• a convenience
• a New Year burst of enthusiasm

Commitment is when a believer — man or woman —
nails their colors to the cross and says:

“By God’s grace, this is who I am,
and this is how I will live.”

 COMMITMENT: A BIBLICAL ACRONYM

C — Consecrated to GodRomans 12:1 KJV

“Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God…”
Our lives are no longer “mine.”
They are offered, yielded, and holy.

A committed person is set apart for God.
His or her life is no longer His or her own.

Consecration says:
“Lord, I belong to You — spirit, soul, and body.”

O — Obedient Without ReservationJohn 14:15 KJV

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Delayed obedience is disobedience wearing church clothes.

Commitment obeys even when it is hard, unpopular, or costly.

Partial obedience is disobedience.
Delayed obedience is disobedience.

M — Motivated by Love, Not Pressure2 Corinthians 5:14 KJV

“Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
We don’t pray because we “have to.”
We pray because love pulls us to Him.

A committed person is not driven by guilt —
he is compelled by love.

Love says, “I want to please Him.”

M — Mind Renewed by TruthRomans 12:2 KJV

“Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
Changed lives start with changed thinking.

A committed person does not bend with culture,
bow to pressure,
or break under persecution.

He or she stands — no matter what.

I — Immovable in Conviction1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable…”
Culture shifts. Truth doesn’t.

A committed person does not bend with culture,
bow to pressure,
or break under persecution.

He or she stands — no matter what.

T — Trusting God FullyProverbs 3:5 KJV

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart…”
Faith doesn’t need a full explanation — just full surrender.

Commitment does not require understanding —
it requires trust.

Faith says:
“God, I don’t see the way — but I trust You.”

M — Mortified to SelfGalatians 2:20 KJV

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I…”
No cross, no commitment.

Commitment demands death to self.

Self-will must die
so Christ can reign.

No cross — no commitment.

E — Enduring to the EndMatthew 24:13 KJV

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”
Commitment stays when feelings leave.

Commitment lasts when the excitement fades.

It stays when others quit.
It endures when the cost rises.

N — Not Ashamed of ChristRomans 1:16 KJV

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”
Private faith was never God’s design.

A committed person is not a secret Christian.

He or she lives boldly.
He or she stands publicly.
He or she speaks clearly.

T — Totally SurrenderedRomans 6:13 KJV

“Yield yourselves unto God…”
All on the altar — or nothing at all.

Commitment means nothing held back.

No hidden rooms.
No reserved rights.
No divided loyalty.

All on the altar — or nothing at all.

Commitment is not what you promise God in good times —
it is what you live out when obedience costs you everything.

“Choose you this day whom ye will serve…” (Joshua 24:15)
